Irrevocable burial trust..how will this affect us? - irrevocable burial trust
My husband has just learned he is the beneficiary of an irrevocable funeral trust. (Was) after his mother never signed anything, never has the financial strength, and now we're afraid it will hurt us during tax season. We are completely ignorant of such things. Who knows if we hurt? The policy is $ 8,000.
Can not we?

Not lean. You still do not pay taxes on donations. If the gift is more than the essential perhaps, but certainly not 10K taxes.
Trust must be aware that the tax is an identity. If so, do not believe that they claim in their personal tax return. Call H & R Block.
