Electric Hand Mixer When A Recipe States "beat" Does That Mean By Hand Or Electric Mixer? ?

When a recipe states "beat" does that mean by hand or electric mixer? ? - electric hand mixer

If you are) a batch of cookies, a recipe for defeat, not (read the ingredients to the state with the hand or mixer, but the pace, not stirred. If a rhythm recipe states, to know how to strike with the hand or with a drummer.

The recipe for the cookies that lurks in the Customs House. I have an electric mixer to assess how to read. Cookies came out very flat. that the taste, but completely flat. I think if you had the mass, the thicker consistency, and cookies was the correct move. (but my main question, read the recipe, which does what it mean, if not specified Beat by hand or mixer. Thanks, Kathy

Unfortunately, both are used interchangeably in those days. Rated the best rule is often "fighting hand" or "on medium speed to beat," specifically to indicate whether an electric mixer or by hand to use.

Some things you may notice:
Thickness of the ingredients. If it is too thick, whisk in hand. When proposing thin / liquid mixer. For cookies, curious, you can beat with the mixer until you add the last cup of the flower, the mixture was stirred by hand.

In addition, if the recipe is very old, which was not updated over the years (like the Nestle Toll House cookies from being stored), the average beat by hand. Mixers were not available to the common house, and if it has a mixer or blender, the recipe used to say.

Spanking effect to say, with an electric mixer or think of a hand or stand mixer (: KitchenAid) The firing with a mixer at high speed is the integration of air needed to make cookies "lift" or "place" in the cooking. . ....

If you do not want to mix the dough by hand, you can use either hand mixed and Pat dough into a greased Pyrex baking x 13 9 and to make Toll House Bars .... are so good! Have fun and Happy Holidays .....

The recipe for the Custom House and other recipes you can use a blender or beat sugar, eggs and butter (marginal, lard).
After that, most of the ingredients must be stirred in.

Most cakes, for example, it can beat with a mixer or by hand.
Come sweet wa-mixer.

But above all cookies by hand, must be mixed (shaken).

Anyway. I like with the mixer, which is at hand. The results are the same, you have already beat the cream? Or the egg? The same results with 2 different methods.

Toll House Cookies Tip: Add an additional 1 / 2 cup flour biscuit thickness. (I prefer real butter too.)
